Hot fudge sauce is the quintessential ice cream topping. This recipe is dreamily luxurious and imo, best enjoyed with vanilla ice cream and sprinkles or chopped salted peanuts.

- ¾ cup chocolate chips
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp sea salt
Put the chocolate chips, heavy cream and sugar in a medium sized saucepan and place over medium heat.
Bring the mixture to a boil, whisking often.
Boil for 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
Add the vanilla, butter and salt and whisk to combine.
Transfer the hot fudge to a jar or container with a lid and let cool on the counter for about 30 minutes before topping over ice cream.
Store the leftover hot fudge in the fridge.
