Pumpkin Pie Spice

No need to buy pricy pre-mixed pumpkin pie spice in the store - make it yourself with just staple spices*. I keep a container of this on hand during the fall and winter season when I am craving those pumpkin recipes. It is also great to add to coffee (PSL anyone??) or hot chocolate for a spicy kick.

  • 2 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 tsp ground allspice

Instructions

Notes

*Bulk barn is my favourite store to buy spices. Since you can buy them in bulk, you can scoop just what you require for a recipe.
**Freshly ground nutmeg kicks ass. Whole nutmeg looks like a little brown egg about half the size of your thumb. It grates beautifully using a zester or small cheese grater. Would highly recommend seeking this out. But of course you can always buy ground nutmeg and it would also be delish.
