I apologize in advance; you may not be able to eat bacon any other way now.
Your new breakfast bestie.
This candied bacon is ridiculously good. It’s a bit spicy and delightfully crisp from the caramelized brown sugar coating. If you aren’t a fan of spice, feel free to omit the chilli flakes entirely. Thick cut bacon works best in this recipe. Thick cut bacon can hold up better to the sugar coating and results in a lovely chewy texture once baked. Serve this bacon alongside all your favourite breakfast favourites. You won’t regret it.

Spicy Candied Bacon
Ingredients
- 4 strips thick cut bacon
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
- ½ tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- Cover a baking tray with aluminum foil and place a rack on the tray.
- On a plate, toss together the brown sugar, chilli flakes and cinnamon.
- Dredge each piece of bacon in the brown sugar mixture making sure the bacon is covered with sugar on both sides.
- Place the pieces of bacon on the rack.
- Bake for 15 minutes, flip then bake for another 15-20 minutes depending on how crispy you like your bacon. Watch the bacon closely towards the end so that the sugar doesn’t burn.
- Remove the bacon from the rack and place on a plate to cool slightly before inhaling.
